MODERN ARCHITECTURE FOR A SUSTAINABLE LODGE IN BAGAN

Bagan is an ancient city located in in the bend of the Irrawaddy river, in the Mandalay Region, MYANMAR.

Bagan lies in the middle of the "dry zone" of Myanmar, the region roughly between Shwebo in the north and Pyay in the south. Unlike the coastal regions of the country which receive annual monsoon rainfalls exceeding 2500 mm, the dry zone gets little precipitation as it is sheltered from the rain by the Rakhine Yoma mountain range in the west. One of the point of interest of this land is its position. At only 20 minutes from the airport, this land is located in the countryside with stunning views over the river, the landscape around and Archaeological temples.

This complex will have 14 luxury villas, a restaurant, a bar with pool, a traditional building for cultural purpose and all necessary equipment to suit with the level of Clients' requirement.

To the opposite to what is around, this project will be resolutely modern, using a refined architecture that integrates itself with the landscape that will remain the essential element to it. The design of buildings has been done in the worries of sustainability encouraging natural ventilation, preservation and moderate use of water (the landscape has been included into the design process. Several kind of accommodation have been designed and developed depending on the position of the villa and the landscape around. All has been thought to enjoy the view while preserving the privacy of each villa. The swimming pool area, including restaurant and bar overlooks the river. The guest will enjoy an impressive view of this essential and natural element.
