The task was to transform the lobby into a proper reception area. The aim of the project was an upgrade of the entrance of the High Court tribunal in Saint-Pierre in Reunion Island. The project brief envisaged that this entrance would be closed and covered, with a controlled access point, a refreshment area and a space for lawyers in the mezzanine. The architectural approach is shown by the large metal cap, a vast cover providing shadow that seems to be floating freely in the entrance. The louvers placed in the high and low sections allow for air circulation. This metallic cover and its glass façade cut across the mineral part of the existing part of the building.
